Claire Lovett is an artist and designer from Randolph, Massachusetts, based in Rhode Island. First introduced to painting at Artists for Humanity in South Boston, Claire drew inspiration from her childhood, family, and coming-of-age experiences, establishing a storytelling foundation in the fine arts that continues to shape her narrative approach to furniture design today.

The average adult spends about four years on the couch, and for Claire, whose favorite moments happen hidden away in her upholstered kingdom, she believes it’s the best four years of many of our lives. Her designs aim to encourage closeness, often imagined within smaller-scale spaces or subtly nudging their users together. She is influenced by local nature, her lifelong habit of turning to it for solace, and its role in forming connections between those who inhabit it.

Claire currently studies Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design, with a concentration in Nature, Culture, and Sustainability Studies, where she experiments with renewable and locally sourced building materials. An avid creator since childhood and an advocate for arts access in underfunded schools since her adolescence, she hopes to continue paving the way for people in creatively underserved communities to pursue their artistic ambitions.

In her free time, she enjoys trivia, running, and carving wooden spoons. Claire’s works have been exhibited at Dye House, Fountain Street Gallery, Woods-Gerry House, TD Bank Nubian Square, Verra, Attleboro Arts Museum, and the Artists for Humanity Epicenter.
