The Love Bench reinterprets a familiar piece of public furniture: the multi-seating bench. Adapted for a living space, its purpose shifts from public utility to personal comfort, whether for solitary relaxation or shared moments with others at home. With felt-formed upholstery, a low profile, and a supportive backrest, the bench emphasizes warmth and intimacy, contrasting the often sterile associations of its public counterpart.

In designing this piece, I became especially interested in the dynamic of forced proximity that public benches create. By bringing this form into the home, where users share a personal connection, I aim to shift that experience, making the bench more inviting and comfortable while still maintaining the sense of temporariness inherent to bench seating.
